CD/DVD Drives not recognized

Thread Starter
I guess this can go in this forum...

Today I turned on my comp and noticed there were no CD/DVD drives listed in My Computer. I have 1 CD Drive and 1 DVD Drive, not detected in My Computer. They are getting power, I can open/close the trays, it's just Windows being ghey.

I went into device manager...there is a yellow exclamation icon in there. I uninstalled both of them and re-installed, nothing. I changed the IDE cable, nothing.

Any ideas? I tried update driver, but no new ones were found (both Sony if that matters)

Does it play anything when inserted into drive? Wow sound strange? Did you try uninstalling one then testing or vise versa?

Nope, nothing plays when inserted...I've tried using just one, still the problem. I think I'll try a Windows Repair with my Windows CDs
