Overclocking Vitamins: EVGA 680i SLI & QX6850 - Page 2

Today, i just figured how to do overclocking after reading for 30min. Thanks for Pauldovi for the nice writing.

So far i'm getting 11,828 on 3DMark06, after i OC'd it to 3.11ghz i got 13,438. The problem that i'm facing right now is the temp, i have reached 72c after OC. I really don't know if i'm doing something wrong or because i'm on air.

Thanks for the great forum Thumbs Up

Thanks Ace. I guess i will try the Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme CPU Cooler, because my 9700 doesn't do the jobe well. Also, the a technical guy in Compusa recommanded it for me. I will use the MX-1, and i will let you know.

Regards and thanks for the help

i would rather take the advice of a bum who has never used a computer over the advice from someone at comp usa...

this seems to be one of the best coolers on the market right now...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835154001

But, with all that high end hardware, i would do some reading on water cooling... Its not that hard to do, and if your somewhat careful about it, it will do wonders for your temps.... and the oc'ablility...

I'm really looking forward to picking up an E6850 and putting it in my A1 evga board... hoping for 4ghz!! i have a nice water cooling setup, so I'm crossing my fingers!!

Is there some sort of bios update i should look into before dropping a E6850 in it?? Looking into it now on the evga forums.....
good enough

The guy from Compusa seems to have a good knowledge, also he recommanded the Tuniq Tower the one you showed me.

About the bios, I'm sorry i can't help, as i don't know much yet.

Haha, nice looking rig. Thats stupid fast. How do people use dry ice to cool down their system? I know dry ice just evaporates into a gas, but I mean I doubt you can just throw some dry ice on top of your cpu and just start using your computer, lol.
