Increasing the range/strength of my WLAN - Page 2

Google wi-fi parabolic reflector. I made one for my WLAN and I have a 4db increase and it reaches to the other end of the house if I point it that way, and weakens the signal outside so there is less chance of someone connecting from outside your house.

I think everyone has some good ideas on increasing range, but in your situation, trying to be able to "lounge in the backyard". I don't think I would try any of these antennas or anything. I would just get a decent router. Best Buy has the Linksys WRT54G for $50 all the time, and I bet you get much better range out of that than the Belkin you are trying now. Or upgrade to something with MIMO to try and get better range/coverage. You may need a better adapter for the PC also.
