I really should know this...

Thread Starter
So my work PC (dude, it's a dell) has some crap 7500 video card in it, with a single VGA out. I've got it running a 19" CRT, and I wanted to hook up a second monitor (I'm a programmer, after all). Is it possible to extend my desktop onto a second monitor using the Onboard VGA output? I've never tried it before. Any other suggestions on how I could use it to get my desktop extended to two monitors?

aren't there cables that split the connection? I'm pretty sure I've seen them before... though most of the times I"ve seen them, its been a single DVI turning into a DVI and a VGA...

I run duals at work also. My primary is the onboard and the secondary is a ATI 9200. All you have to do is go to your display properties and check "extend my windows desktop onto this monitor" Simple as that.

Have fun with your new setup!
