can one get better for performance/price

3600+ X2
ASrock board
beige mid-t with 450W PSU
dvd+-rw
80gb hd

for $150 used

then adding a 7300gt for $50 from hardforum

good for $200? got a friend in need for college and his 1.7P4 doesnt cut it.

what is he doing that requires more then a p4?
i use macromedia on my parents 1.3 celeron just fine
pc 133 512mb and all intergrated graphiiiiccs

good for you. brag more about how you can use 'macromedia'. that doesn't help me and contributes absolutely nothing to the thread.

i am a hobbyist developer/programmer as well. what 'macromedia' do you use/are you speaking of? dreamweaver? flash? fireworks? i have cs3, had cs2, and older versions all the way to one of the first releases of macromedia flash and dreamweaver; they use a lot of system resources compared to hardware standards of their release dates.

well he is in Electrical/Computer Engineering, ECE so he is using AUTOCAD and Electronics workbench (which doesnt need much) but mainly the designing programs.
