The 8600GT has 128bit the 8800GTS has 320bit thats the difference and the 8800GTS Kills the 8600Gt lol.

Correct. The reason is that you don't get as much of your money's worth for high end cards.

Also, the 8800 and 8600 are both 500 core for the ref. design. The 8600 on average overclocks MUCH better than the 8800 does. I owned two different 8800's, neither would go over 650 with any semblance of stability. My 8600 does 700 core on stock volts no problem. Two heavily OC'ed 8600's vs. one mildly OC'ed 8800 will be a LOT closer race than most of you think. The 8600 wins bang for buck HANDS DOWN.

I have owned BOTH cards and the 128bit interface has had absolutely no apparent effect on performance, in fact I would say that my 8600 performs better than the x1950pro (which I ALSO owned, BTW) which has a 256bit interface. This ruckus about the memory interface is nothing but fud IMO.

Not to mention which for someone like me who appreciates a silent system, the heat-spewing blow-dryer sounding 8800 series is not as attractive as two 8600's with silent coolers.
