upgraing from an E6300 to e6750 or e6600

Thread Starter
Hey guys, ive had an e6300 for a couple of months OC'd at 3.1 stable with a big typhoon.

Since the Cpu's have dropped so much in price i was wondering whether i should upgrade to a e6750 or a e6600.

what king of stable upgrade can i get and which one do you recommend better?

my MB is a Asus P5N32-SLI.

thanks for the advice.

the only part about it i'd consider an upgrade would be the bigger L2 Cache. other than that, it's too similar to what you already have for it to really be worth the money.

yeah, good point about the 1333 FST, it seems my 5 month old MB doesnt support the higher FSB, i guess i better wait till more boards come out for the DDR3 so that my upgrade make sense , i dunno, maybe ill sell my e6300 and pay 50 bucks difference for the e6600.

what is the e6600 Overclocking stable to these days?

C2D @ 3.1ghz? Why would you want to spend money on something unnecessary?

I got an E6600 at 3.15ghz, I've thought about selling it and get a Q6600 but in the end? I don't think it's worth it.

If any, I'd suggest you wait on Peryn CPUs.

Your board supports the 1333FSB with a bios flash ...

Zalman coolers are horrible. What you need it's a Tuniq Tower 120 and you'll see those temps go as high as 45c max., mine does as well at 4.51ghz. And that's not the limit.
