PC Switches on for 2 seconds then dies, HELP ME!?!?!

Just been putting a system together and all is not well. Spec is as follows:

ABIT IP95 Motherboard
P4 - 3.0Ghz
Zalman PSU 600w
Asus/ATI X1600 GFX
80Gb Hard drive
1Gb G.Skill Ram

Ive just got everythin connected, when I hit the power switch it comes on for about 2-3 seconds before switching back off. The power switch is only a push to make so its not that, but ive also tried with a screwdriver as well!

Ive spent the best part of 3 hours on this now... Ive managed to get into the BIOS 3 times and Windows once!!

Ive tried 2 PSU's, with & without RAM, with & without GFX, 2 different HD's and it just wont work...

No the CPU cooling shud be fine, its got a stock Intel heatsink on.

A minute ago it went to the bios.. didnt move anything around the pc, rebooted and now it wont work again.

Also I think its a grounding issue but cant work out where.
Ive taken it apart several times and its not in a case at the moment, just my desk

Reinstall your hsf.

Try jamming your ram in really hard, make sure that the clips on each side are fully closed. My RAM I found I had to literally press as hard as I could to get it to go in properally.

hehehe

i dont recomend holding the mobo while turned on

also it may be that the board itself is bad

but i still think its grounding

take all apart everything .

make sure you have standoffs for each hole on the board and make sure that when u put em in thay are fastened tight.

and dont use the plastic standoffs as thay really blow :O

use the coper or aluminum ones that come with the case
