Asus M2R32-MVP Overclocking Problems

Thread Starter
Hello, when i boot into bios and set the AI Overclocking settings in manual, by setting the multiplier and FSB and restart, i still see the speed as 3.0ghz on my AMD 64 Athlon X2 6000+ i have tried various settings and i have even raised my multiplier to x15 and it wouldn't move at all, the FSB is around 200 default when i set it i think, and no matter what, it won't budge.
Thanks

The CPU multiplier is 1/2 locked, it will go down from default but not up!
Work up the CPU bus slowly, the 6000+ have some room to OC but not a lot being there default speed is so high.

I have the same board, but when I OC'd my X2 3800, I left the multiplier alone and simply upped the FSB. In turn, it also upped my RAM Clock as well. I would recommend a Zalman Heatsink/Fan for CPU cooling, works well for me. Make sure you have the most up-to-date BIOS. The M2R32-MVP has a built-in flash program in the BIOS. Download the latest BIOS and burn to a CD or Floppy, go into the BIOS. On the 2nd-to-last page of the BIOS is the Flash Program. Load into it, select the location, and then flash away. It should walk you through the process in the manual. If you don't have the manual, you can download it through support.asus.com. Let me know if you have any questions. Enjoy
