safe OC for new build

Thread Starter
as some of you may know my friend hired me to build him a new pc.. this is what i came up with

Dual 256MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ 8600 GTS - SLI Enabled

AMD Athlonâ„¢ 64 X2 4600+

800MHz DDR2 SDRAM - 2GB - 2 x 1024MB

NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI Motherboard

Windows Vistaâ„¢ Home Premium

250GB Serial ATA 3Gb/s 7,200 RPM w/ 8MB Cache

1000 Watt SLI Capable Power Supply

Antec 900

so all this should be getting to me in the next few days.. anyone know what the safe Oc is on the 4600+ winsor?

voltage changes OC ect

also its liquid cooled d(^.^)b

Just push it till it wont go no more. No more than 1.6 vcore although others are skeptical over 1.5. Just see what you can get with the temps in a safe range.

windsors usually top out at about 2.7-2.9, so that should give you a general goal

Core stepping dependant, you may reach 3G but you'll likely be asking for trouble down the road when building and OCing for some who knows nothing.
Get a good stable OC and even tweak it down slightly so he don't get into any trouble down the road when the ambient temps change.
