Good to hear that the 8600 is a pretty good card from a "non-statistical" point of view..lol.

but I actually want to be future proof, because I also my play World in Conflict or Company of Heroes...and for sure Quake Wars. So I guess I will have to stick to the 8800 GTS, and I'll SLI after I have enough money and the price for it goes about 150 dollars down.

This way I won't have to worry about not being able to play anything for a decent while.

Thanks for the help.^__^
Read my last post. I wouldn't consider any 8-series card futureproof right now, for obvious reasons. But if those are the games you want to play, then the 8800GTS is the way to go.

Meh, I don't buy anything unless I already have the money. It avoids credit card debt, and leads to a much happier, stress-free life...

Well I know that my mom is set because she just recently won Employee of the Year, so she isn't getting fired at all for a while.
So i'm pretty sure that we will be able to afford it, plus I have 200 bucks saved up to pay for my LCD.

Non-statistical as in my 8600GT gets consistantly higher framerates and fewer framerate drops than the x1950pro and 7900GT that I used to own? Sounds pretty statistical to me.

Would you like me to make up some graphs for you in Excel using the fps numbers I stated in my post so that my results are officially statistical?

im somewhat confused...
the system you have would simply bottlekneck with either of those cards
im assuming you have another rig, or that your currently building one?

if so and your only looking to do moderate gaming, and not get into any dx10 games, then i think the 8600gts would be far cheaper and save your mom some cash.

edit: just noticed sublime0 already posted this sorry
