New Computer NOT POSTING!! HELP!!!!!!

comp in my specs...

so heres the story i get all the parts put them together and the computer works when it is out of a case, and the screen does show but when its in the case the computer will not post ....any suggestions? PLEASE HELP ive been up for 3 hours trying to figure this out....the computer seems like its posting only when it wants to !!!

what does that mean? how do i fix it ( this happens in both of the cases i have )


edit: everytime i touch the motherboard the green power light flickers

did you install the motherboard try risers. that will cause the mobo to ground out and not post

what are risers? the only thing i used was 3 screws cuz thats all i had that would fit its kind of loose at the top but not too bad..

that is your problem then you need to use risers to lift the mobo off the metal mobo tray. that will cause it to short out and not boot.

Risers:

You screw them on your motherboard tray, then you put your motherboard on the risers, then you screw screws into all of the risers.

3 screws? Maybe that's one of the cause of your shortages.

Pleaes excuse my typos, I'm very much drunk.

The risers are little gold-looking metal screw-like things that keep the motherboard off the tray. If you have one where it's not supposed to go (where there's not screw hole in motherboard) it could short it out.
