If you got hired to design a case by Antec what would you do with it? - Page 2

Huge Tower, bottom compartment for multiple PSU's, top compartment for WC/extra HDD racks. (sold seperately )
8 drive bays that are positioned like this:
\\\\//
\\\\//<-- drive bays.
[][]
[][] <-- 120mm fans.
//\\\\
//\\\\
=== <-- HDD/Floppy bays.
(in a 45* angle)
about as wide, slightly higher, and a bit deeper than MozartTX cases.
4x120mm intake between the drive bays, exactly in front of the mobo.
2x120mm exhaust next to IO panel, 2x120mm mounts at PCI slot-height, allowing cables to come from video/audio cards while covering the lowest 4 slots.
4x120mm sidefans covering most of Mobo area. 4 fans moving air from mobo compartment to top compartment, and another 4 next to those sucking air in from the side trough a 480mm wide duct, allowing for 2x 480mm rads (or 4x 240mm)
2x side intake fans for PSU compartment, 2x exhaust in the back.

Total number of fans: 24.

Awesome, man. I wish more people like you designed cases. There would be a lot more happy builders out there!

lol, and a lot poorer (money wise) builders I could see a case liek that going for liek $600+ when it was first released.

are earplugs included?

I like the P180 (bottom PSU/hard drives in separate chamber) and not too many fans yet good airflow. Changes I'd make:
1) Removable motherboard tray with nice room behind it for cabling (case will be a bit wider).

I'd design the next Antec Nine Hundred

Will probably be called the Antec One Thousand

The front will be a mesh design, and the front pops off like the Cooler Master's. Two TriCool Antec fans are included in the front. There will be two external 3.5" bays and the rest are internal/external 5.25" drive bays. Included are two 200mm fans, one at the top of the case and the other one on the left side of the case. There will be an optional window for those who want it. There are also two 120mm fans in the back. The case is larger overall, so it can contain SLi 8800GTX Ultra's and beyond. The tooless system is updated so everything is easy to use.

Lastly, on the right side of the case, etched into the metal of the case is the word: Antec. The color of the case is Gun Metal Black.

crappy paint drawing (added 8 more fans. ;p)

@Chozart: enough room for fancontrollers ^^
post #17 of 19
All i ask is for the whole front of the case to be 5.25" bays.
and for the bottom to have enough room for a double/triple rad

why you need so many bays? I'd rather have at least one 120mm fan instead .

the bays are just for expandability. if you use two for cd/dvd drives, the rest ca be used for fans unless you're using that space and you can configure the fans in differnt positions. i just like the freedom. also, the fans wont be "obstructed" by any stupid fdd/hdd cages.

i forgot to mention, i HATE doors
