SCSI is not worth the money unless your running a server. Go with SATA.

They'll be faster, but also noisier and create much more heat.

scsi is faster and alot of people recommend it only for servers...cause u can get the seagate cheetahs, 15k rpm...just go sata.. really its seen as the consumer version of scsi

You cannot do RAID 0 with 3 drives. You can, however, do RAID 5.

Ehm, is it me or is this incorrect. I've ran 3 SATA drives in RAID-0. Running 2 now cause I've got data on the third which I can't afford to lose if my array would crash. Ofcourse a harddrive can crash as well, but the chances of a RAID array crashing are bigger.

But if RAID-0 can't run 3 drives, then what was my third drive set to when I made the array? It was detected as a 750GB array by windows, so am I missing something?

you can run as many drives as your controller will support in raid-0. And anyone who says that 4 15k scsi drives in raid-0 does not offer any performance increase...i say that's bull-plop! you'll never ever want to go back to regular hard drives after experiencing the super fast access time and crazy transfer speeds. i've done tests with my setup and have had transfer rates of over 500mb/sec with random access speeds of 5.8ms. no performance increase? HA! if you don't mind spending a little bit of money and a little bit more noise for the 15k scsi's then it's WELL worth it.

You can have as many drives as you want in RAID 0...after 4 though, you kinda hit a wall with transfer speeds...

RAID 5 will DECREASE performance, it is designed so you can recover data if a drive is lost.
