so im building a rig for my friend and he is on a tight budget and i have ram and a 3800+ X2 to give him so its pretty much decided he is not going AM2 or conroe. hes not going to do much overclocking, maybe a little, im just looking for a cheap board on newegg. preferably micro ATX.

i found these:
Biostar GEFORCE 6100-M9

Foxconn....

micro atx is preferred because he wants to build it in a TT lanbox because he will take it around to friends houses and LANs

ok good. i hate foxconn.... He probably just wants to bump the proc up to around 2.2 nothing major.

They're both the same, though the FoxConn has an ever so slightly better onboard GPU. With that in mind, I'd choose the Foxconn out of those two.

you think either one will be at least okay at overclocking?

They'll both be so-so, no micro-ATX board clock's as good as a full ATX board. Besides, if he intends to run it in a small form factor chassis I doubt the PSU that ends up being used would be powerful enough anyway.

Foxconn since i own one. Good overclocker and pretty stable with good features.

I rather go with this if your plan to game or overclock

Foxconn 6150K8MA-8EKRS

Go ahead google this board and there will a lot great reviews.

its a full size psu though. its pretty much a TT pure power 500W.
