Old nVidia card question: 6600gt

Thread Starter
Well I have a pc from my friend his vid card is fried. I think. I don't even know what it is to be honest. Looks like the one (6600GT) in the web pages when I search for this info on the card: 8983 ver:200

If this card doesn't have a fan attached to it will it not show picture as a safety precaution? I'm asking this cuz the fan has "blown" up. i don't have the fan on me, but I do have the card, and the mobo is a diff. story....

I just need to know if that's the only problem (I'm sure it overheated), and how much it did cost when it was fairly new, or about 3-4 years ago. I know nothing about nvidia as I have only had ati. I'm trying to get a quote for a new card today with the price of the old card when it was still fresh. An upgrade for the same price a couple of years ago... If that makes any sense at all

Appreciation all around

edit: Oh yeah this nvidia card is red??? I thought nvidia liked green.

If its an AGP card good luck finding them around...where i live atleast. Im not too sure how many AGP cards are still going through America.

Anyway i think they were around the 200-250 mark when they were new, im not too sure, sorry.

Hope this helped anyways.

Yeah it helped a lot I had no clue how much they cost back then. Oh and I'm not looking to replace it with another 6600 I just wanted a price of a new 6600 when they came out. Then turn around today and buy a new card for 200-250.

btw, my 6600GT was red so it's probably an MSI
