get an asus p5ne ($130) and an intel e4500 ($150).

for amd get an x2 4400 ($90) or x2 5200 ($130) and for mobo asus m2n series for around $80.

ram corsair xms (2x512gb) for $70

that budget is pretty tight to find ram, mobo and cpu

Well, at around $300, your choices are kind of limited. Here's my idea for you:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3600+ Brisbane: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103046 - $61.99
Corsair XMS2 DDR2-800: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145590 - $108.00
Asus M2N-E Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131022 - $98.99

Comes out to just short of $270.

According to this review it doesn't, many other places don't rate the board too highly either.

Go for one of the new Athlon X2 BE chips, they run super cool. And then get a Biostar Tforce 560, they support AM2+ CPUs so you can use the next gen chips in them. for RAM, pick up some Corsair DDR2-675 for $75.

So:

Athlon X2 BE 1.9ghz - $90
Mobo - Biostar Tforce 560 - $70
Ram - Corsair DDR2-675 - $75

$235.
