I was watching the demo, and I saw how they could pick up trip wires with telekinesis. Imagine picking up an electric trip wire and shooting it at an enemy.. :O

I really don't know if it will be "native DX10". There will be one version with DX9 and DX10 combined into one. I don't think we will have a true DX10 untill a game comes out with a minium system requirement "DX10 compatible video card".

All the up-coming games will have you go into the game options to turn on the DX10 options...or I guess it might auto-detect them.

How will that be different then the patched games? I am assuming that thing will work a little better since the games will be programed "arround the patch" instead of having a patch applied but the game will still be coded to run on both DX9 and DX10.

The game was built from the ground up with the intention of it running on DX10 the whole time. Hence native DX10.

But it still will run on DX9...and you will not be walking into the store and have the option to buy a DX9 version or a DX10 version. There will be one version that will do both.

So you could also say that it was built from the ground up to play DX9.

Like I said, I am sure it will be better then what we have right now but it still will not be a true DX10 game.

Patching isn't as smooth; think of a bridge.

It works fine normally, let's call that DX9.

it Breaks, and now you need to drop a metal sheet over the crack so that vehicles may pass over, let's call this a DX10 Patch.

As you can well imagine, it's not HALF as good as having the "native" bridge integrity, hence it doesn't work as well as if you had a whole, not damaged, bridge.

Savvy?
