Vista a dud, says Acer's Lanci - Page 5

i may be blind and stupid but i didnt really see much vista fanboys it was more just people stating that their experiences with vista was awsome and that alot of problems people have are not the os itself. Its not like they came in here saying vista is god and xp should be locked up in a box and thrown down a well.
I mean you cant deny that in some instances vista is better, and in some its not. YOu didnt have luck with vista so to say xp is better is just as much fanboyism as anything else said on this thread (for the most part). They both have strengths and weaknesses and both are great. I know alot of people have problems with it but it seems more people dont and that problems always seem to overrule the good in things.
Not trying to pick a fight either just saying what i feel sry if i get anyone angry.

Now on topic i think a majority of why vista doesnt work well with those kinds of computers is the simple fact that they load vista on comps that shouldn't run them. And with a bunch of crappy software that hinders performance. With my sisters hp it ran like crap with dual core i think at 1.8 or 2ghz and 1 gig ddr2. However when i uninstalled all the useless resource hogging crap on it and updated all the drivers it ran flawlessly. A little slow on the start up but it runs smooth as silk in vista.

They don't site specific examples of bugs because they've never used it. They just post that there is bugs because they heard it from a friend of a friend of a sister's cousin's uncle.

I can tell you of three myself since I use Vista day in and out. TrustedInstaller.exe, Hibernation not working with certain motherboards, and Installing a few Ultimate Extras. None of them are bad and TI.exe happens once in a blue moon.

The whole OS moves a lot smoother and handles memory and cpu management very well. All the major complaints and woes you hear of are from people who tried the RC1 or betas. The final build is very quick and responsive even in games.

I still use XP on my older system, the AMD.

I've never used it? http://www.overclock.net/completed-t...hlight=hanns+g I sold this monitor and included is a pic of it on Vista.

As far as bugs I've had... Just the same general bugs that I've had with XP. Such as folders freezing while opening them, while shutting down, etc.

Edit: Yes I just realized that I should've edited this into my last post. Sorry.

So basically your bug claim is null and void, since if it happens on both xp and vista its clearly some sort of buggy software you are running or a piece of hardware that is not working properly, which is not the fault of the OS since it happens on 2 entirely different OS's/

I have one too...not bad, but it has a P3 running at 1.2GHz. The dang thing nearly goes into melt down. Back when the battery was in good shape it would only last about 20 minutes on battery since the fan was running at 100% non-stop. At least I think that what was eating the power.

Heh...I also have that FAMAS in your avatar. Love to see people supporting Airsoft. Airsoft is about the only thing other then my family that pull me away from CS:S or BF2142.

I think they both suck...if I am putting together a machine with a single core CPU you can bet any thing it will have Windows 2000 on it if gets any version of windows at all.

My XP and Vista are set to windows classic so I can at least pretend that it is Windows 2000

I say that people who incessantly complain every time a new OS is released are a dud. Acer's Lanci is also a dud. Acer is a dud as well.
Everyone has there own opnion on Vista. Yes it could have been better at launch but then again what OS on its first release isnt buggy.

Acer are not exactly one to talk when it comes to good products im afraid.

It's not the truth, as every operating system Microsoft has released has had the same issue. It's just the way new operating systems work. People just seem to forget that though.
