Asus M2N-E ATX AM2
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ 2.1GHz
2GB DDR2
PNY 7600GTS
320GB HD

so..i got this mb and cpu yesterday..and i started installing it and got everything working. then i decided to oc "without updating the bios". the thing is..my cpu is a 65nm, so i believe many of u know this cpu should get to 3.0GHz no problem. but the thing is, my mb have limited options which is lowering the limit to only 2.8..and my temperature is only at 19C and im running at 2.8GHz! before oc it was like 15C? so any suggestion on getting this further? the problem is my MB is limiting my DDR options..which is...bs...

Well first off, unless you have some really insane cooling your CPU can't be at 15C try running Everest Ultimate Trial to find out your actual CPU temps, I bet it's more around 50C

And 2.8Ghz is quite a respectable overclock for a 4000.

Everest shows 24C for Core #1 and 20C for Core #2 running @ 2.7ghz. Coretemp also shows the same readings. I think the FSB of the motherboard is limiting the OC. I did a 2.8GHZ with 10.5 X 268FSB and it runs orthos fine for 1 hour. When I try to do 10X2.7, it failed to even boot.

I have AC Freezer 64 Pro with arctic silver 5 thermal paste for cooling.

I too have this MB and I am wondering if you may have gotten your answer or figured a bypass that you would not mind sharing...
