GeForce 9800 GTX will be over two times faster than a GeForce 8800 Ultra in real world games and applcations.
Isn't that a *****. For everyone who bought the 8800 cards. Doesn't innovation suck now everyone knows how I feal. MU HU HU HAHA although what i want to know is what will be the price drops on the already 8800 cards. Will they have to eliminate there lower end 8 series line such as the 8200 and the 8400 or w/e they are called because the upper cards will canabolize the market for DX10 parts.

This really sucks, I only got my hopes up for playing crysis on max... , btw isn't the 8900GTX only an oc'ed 8800gtx? Really no point to releasing this card, Nvidia should have made a better card, if this is true than the 8900GTX is crap.

Actually no, provided that the 9800GTX is the improved version of the original 8800GTX architecture, it should be smaller, especially considering the fact that the new cooler won't need to be as big (lowered heat output).

He was wrong, G92 = 9800GTX

I don't particularly like to quote wiki, but I must.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeForce_9_Series

It may have been stated as rumors, but the spec sheet proves it on its own. G92 = 9800GTX.

Well I've been hearing both, mostly that it's a 9800GTX...I'm going to step away from all these threads until November.

I think everyone should, the subject of the 9800GTX is complete BS, that would make the card a whole generation ahead! That isn't even logical and i'm surprised this is even being discussed. 7xxx series Dx9, 8xxx series Dx10, 9xxx series Dx11....i think you get the idea where this is going.

The only cards that are on the horizon are the 8950GX2 (consisting of 2x 8800GTS 512MB GDDR4 GPU's sandwiched together). Another card is the 80nm 8900GTX which has everything current GTX's have and Ultras except a 700Mhz stock core and 2200Mhz memory and 768MB of GDDR4. There is no change to memory interface or memory size. Some other 80nm cards like the 8900GTS/8900GT & GS are also coming....

Some info here....

You're very wrong. There will be no 8900-Series, they are cutting it short, like they did with my 6-Series. Not 6900 cards, just 6800. It will be the 9800GTS/GTX/Ultra. Those specs are what we are hoping for and what will beat the HD 2900XTX, but, they are not released from nVidia.

6-Series = DirectX 9, why didn't they make a 6900GT instead of a 7x00? Exactly.

Whatever. I'm getting the best card for under $750 when it's September, so, whatever it's called I'm getting it. Maybe I'll wait for the G92 if it's not delayed. I'm looking at getting an eVGA e-GeForce 8800GTX or Ultra by then, though.
