Zalman CNPS-9700LED Vs. Thermaltake Big Typhoon

i need air cooling for my Q6600, which one of these is better im deciding between these two

if your going to "set it and forget it" i would get the zalman. If you are going to lap the typhoon and get a better fan to go on top of it with better air flow then get the ttbt

TT wins because you can change the fan to a better one. You don't have to lap it, but it's always a smart idea

There's pretty much your answer right there. I like the Big Typhoon more myself, because of the fan option.

With the TTBT, make sure you have room in your case. I have one and it was a trooper on my quad. I never had the 9700 so I can only vouch for the TTBT.

I'ev used both. The typhoon is slightly better but as mentioned above many of them will need lapping and the stock fan is pretty anemic.

will the big typhoon fit in my antec p182? cause i just bought the fan and its a monster, theres two case fans on the top and back side of the p182, will those be a problem?

It did fit in my Thermaltake Soprano and it is smaller than the P182 so it will be fine.

I love the zalman for one reason.

The mounting system is TOP NOTCH
