Then you need more Vcore for a stable OC, dont go higher than 1.45v.

Temp readings were taken with Core Temp and NVMonitor, which differed by ~3 deg. C. I'll take some shots of my setup in about 20 minutes and post them.

Here's a pic of the setup:

Also, I tightened all screws fully (required a motherboard removal) and temps are same. Is the Tower facing the right direction? Also, this is not pictured, but I have an Antec 120mm fan mounted on the case's removable side panel.

A good test to see if it's mounted the right way is to put your hand underneath (between the heatsink and cpu in your case) and see if you can feel any airflow coming from the heatsink. If you can, you might want to re-orient it towards the exhaust on the top.

I believe that is blowing air right onto your GPU lol. I have a tuniq tower aswell.

EDIT: Also, you do not need a mirror finish when lapping. As long as it is flat, you are good.

Ok, this is getting very frustrating. This evening I stripped the case, cleaned it out, noted the positioning on my side fan (it was exhaust so I made it intake), lapped the Tuniq, re-fitted it using slightly less AS5 (I put too much last time) and facing in the opposite direction so that the air is blowing upwards towards the top 200mm exhaust fan. Lo and behold, my temps rose to about 53 C idle!

Fan is spinning full-blast at 2000RPM, all other fans are kicking as well. Temp at stock speeds is 41 C idle, 47 C load.

Try mounting it so the fan shoots the air out of the back of the case, thats how mine is.

Thats all I can think of.

I know you said you have the pins tight, but can you see the threads above the clamp? You should be able to make it very tight, the mobo can handle the weight. I remember when I first put on the Tuniq Tower, my temps were aroudn 45, then I tightened it a lot more and they dropped to about 33c(30c with my bedroom window open)
