Part of your ridiculous temps, is the mobo, the P5K's have such good voltage regulation on them, I have experienced lower temps and vcores on all of the cpu's I have tested on mine....
I don't think the P5K has very much to do with the low temps but I would ask Knitelife about that. Every 3.4Ghz+ OC I've seen with a Q6600 is water-cooled and we wouldn't DREAM of seeing these kinds of temps and this kind of stability on air at anything above 3.2ghz.

I'm pretty sure that G0 has proven itself, and the rejoice over these temps are justly founded.

To Prove it... I'm going to play through the Gigabyte 965P board, P35 board, and P5K Deluxe board and see what kinda temps I get when I get my G0 from Tankguys.

If the P5K stays with me that long, that is... I'm really not all that impressed with the board, personally.

B3's are good enough, G0 is pretty much better from this thread's tellings alone. Guy has proof of his OC work right here. By the way, you never showed us your temps on air with your Quad, either. You were claiming they were lower, we never saw the proof like Tiramisu's doing.

Tiramisu-- How many gigs of ram do you have? I'm wondering if I'll run into OCing problems with all 4 gigs installed.

EDIT: ...looking at the 3.6Ghz scores (~5500), I think 6k is a bit much...but still. Its feasible to get a sick score! Go for it!
A preliminary OC bench test on 3DMark 06: Ranked #1 in the Vista OS and Q6600 Category

5ghz is ****ing nuts at 7500 cpu score and the guy is on XP.
Vista is a whole different class.

Anyways, here is my score.
Becouse of you've demanded it so I'll show it but this may not be the best overall score I can get. My system is very messed up and need a reformat. The score is based on my test rig so don't take it too seriously.

But nevertheless, I'm still ranked #1 in Vista Q6600 category

I actually have another 2GB of Ballistix Tracers so I can also test 4GB overclock-ability on Vista 64bit. But first I need to finalize my 2GB OC setup first. Man I"m getting ahead of myself...

Thanks for running 3DMark!

I always wondered what it would take to get over 1fps on Red Valley. That is one benchie that needs a whole lot of horsepower! It will probably take a 50Ghz V8 rig to get 30fps on that one.

Very nice rig you put together. Hopefully I will do as well when I get mine.

Tiramisu, you are going down =D.

As soon as I get a stable setup, I am challenging you to an OC'off. That is....within safe means. =)

Yeah I'm in the ring on the OC and Temp challenge. It'll be August before I get back to Quad land... but I'm down!

Then I'll retire again when Penryn hits. xD

And I'll try to get a good one but will most likely fall behind with the 680i
Though I'll be up all night trying to beat u guys once I either modd or upgrade the MoBo...

I too would love to see like 10fps on red valley just to make some friggin' sense of what's supposed to be going on with those dang robots floating around hehe

Ok sorry guys I went through like 17 pages of reading and I couldnt find the baseline 3dmark06 score. I may have missed it. I would like to see what the gain was %. I just want to get an idea how well it performs under overclocking. Really not bad since this scored slightly higher. Oh nevermind I realized that was the qx6700.
