You guys won't believe HOW BAD my Thermalright Ultra120 Extreme was - It was extremely CONVEX to hell!!
I've taken lots of pics to show my lapping process and it took me ~6 hours to lap it...my finger cramps so bad now.

I'm not kidding I could easily tilt the heatsink on one side when I put it on a piece of glass.

I'll start uploading the pics of the lapping job.
I'll post it in the air cooled forum

What's your ambient temperature? I'm getting a normal Q6600, and kind of regretting it, although I won't be overclocking. I have an ambient of 24-27C and I am hoping from an idle of 30-31C after my Arctic Silver cures.

Amazing temps. (I will also be using a P5K Deluxe )

aren't your RAM timings a bit...tight for overclocking?

ive always thought you want your timings real loose to allow for highest possible overclocks, and then tighten them up after you reach a stable zone
post #28 of 291
I was going to geta P5k, but then I got a DS3P. I wonder how difficult it will be vs my old P5B deluxe wifi. What sand grit did you use? and how come 6 hours? It took me 1 hour for a BT

Correct and that's becouse I've already know my highest stable OC for my ballistix tracers 8500 kit
If you see the OC reference screenshot of my last system in the 1st page, you can see that my ram kit could easily OC up to DDR2-1200 at only 2.2v and 5-5-4-5-3-30-3-3-5 tight timings/subtimings...

Curretnly 425FSB in 4/5 divider is VERY EASY on the rams

Sorry if I've missed this question about my ambient temp, I thought I answered this already...or maybe on other forums

RIght now in the early morning, the ambient temp is around 21c but gets up to 30c ++++ later int he afternoon.

It's summer time so it's actually the worse time for Quad core + air but gotta thank G0 first and then my awsome lapping job...

I was planning on lapping my G0 and my heatsink. But now I dont think I will have to do the former. And that will save my 3 year warranty.
