@ Tiramisu how come your 3DM06 results shows a Core of 4212 .. you holding back on us
lowering the CPU multi has this affect...

Intel favors mhz in ram rather than latency (AMD) and higher FSB yields greater bandwidth.

For example:

FSB 480 with 5:4 divider = DDR2-1200 or 600mhz
FSB 400 with 3:2 divider = DDR2-1200 or 600mhz

The first one will have greater bandwidth.

There's also NBCC (North Bridge Core Clock) calculation:

Default Multi / Current Multi * FSB = NBCC (Quad-data rate)
9/8 * 468 = 526.5mhz or 2106 QDR
9/9 * 416 = 416mhz or 1664 QDR

Same clock but first one will have slightly greater bandwidth clock for clock.

Really ... seems not to happen om my submissions ... maybe a P35 > FM issue ...

Would like to be able to lower my CPU multi but the i680 4CT521 BIOS does not recognise the G0 .. oh well

Q- how has your luck been over 500mhz FSB so far? I have been unable to hold a stable FSB over 500mhz...probably still on the 'learning curve' of this mobo though.

I had a post regarding max FSB of my Q6600 G0 but I think I'm going to try its max FSB again.
since I can get prime stable at FSB470+ now, I guess the relative max FSB may possibly be extended beyond my previous FSB489 screen shot.
I'll find that out later in the day.

By the look of your system spec, you've an early batch 712A Q6600. I assume that's an Engineer sample?
What's the max FSB with a screenshot for ur chip? and max prime stable clock?

No..its not an ES, and I have been so busy working lately i fear I might never get to test this thing out thoroughly. The highest Orthos stable clock, I have achieved so far is 3.4ghz, but ambients were too high to keep going. I have posted at 3.6ghz before, but crashed Orthos in under 10minutes..at 450mhz FSB.

*i have been trying to bump up my e6320 to ~3.2-3.4ghz for F@H use..and just got my P4 630j, back up and running...+ working 75hrs a week...Im tired and have very little time left over to 'play'.

4GHz Quad just for the fun of it. Notice that the voltage doesn't need to go through the roof to acheive this clock

Here is the CPU-Z Validation. With the amount of given voltage, it's enough to do some easy tasks beside Priming of course.

3744 MHz with low volts and Prime stable for 7+ hours no problem

It's always nice to some comparasons. I'd really shocked if anyone of you can get prime stable beyond my current 3.74GHz on air, with reasonable volts of course

Forget about my 3Dmark SM2.0/3.0 and CPU scores. Although I'm currently ranked #1 in Vista/Q6600 category for CPU mark but I know the scores can still be further improved on after a better driver from Nvidia for Vista OS and a fresh install OS. 6k+ ? maybe not when the penryn comes out
Now why on earth would you think anyone else cant' get that high on air? LOL

With the same board, same ram? Mayhap if we get a bad week.

In fact, only a bad week will stop me from beating your air temps. Trust me on that. =D

Challenge issued.

4.0Ghz reached, but unstable huh?. Guess there's no reason to go Extreme! Penryn is next for me then.
