Xtreme Q6600 G0 Overclocking on Air !!! (Pics Heavy & Daily Updates) - Page 24

Thread Starter
A New High Record! ~ 3800MHz Small FFT Prime Stable Preliminary Results ~2hrs.

Notice it's FSB 475 Priming stable approx 2hrs and counting using x8 multiplier
Core temps are still awsome consider it's air cooled. Of course this is with a little help of lower ambient temp today at 21c.
Good news watercoolers: Consider what I've acheived on air, 3800mhz on water is def. feasible if you've a good batch

Notice: I'm currently transfering all the previous screen shot database to the new server. Dead pics will be fixed soon. Thanks guys

O_o; 85C

3.8Ghz is nice. And at those temps, that's pretty much as further than I would ever go.

Wonder if it's safe to say 24/7 OC @ 3.6Ghz on air.

hehehe 70, 70, 67, 67... ::Aerosmith:: LIVING ON THE EDGE!!!

Well, it is summer and you still need a few hours on that AS5... I'd say go for it, I mean it is rated at 71C possibly really supposed to be at 72.3C... and you'll hardle run it as hard as Prime95 is... then baked in you'll get 2-3C less at max out cores... then summer going away might get u an other 2C at least... go for it... heheh...

I'd probably set it to 3.7GHz and feel 200% safe since I might actually loar all cores a ton with editing, especially with those long renders... but otherwise just go for it mang!
(not trying to peer pressure you into an unconfortable or dangerous hardware setting just sayin')

wha't the warranty like if you were to loose ur Chip? do they do anything for you? would the chil loose some OCability first or just kaput up to OC heaven?

70,70,67,67 isnt so bad considering that most QX6700 owners are running 70-75 with small FFTs, and the G0 stepping can handle more heat (supposely) than the B3 QX6700s.

Some actually are running theirs at 80C.

I wouldn't go above 79C with a quad during Small FFTs, that is around high 60s in a quad core games.

+10 or 15 (Can't remember) to those Speedfan temps for accurate temps. Or did I get that backward again?
