Agp card on it's way out - Page 2

post #11 of 15
I wouldnt toutch a x1650 pro, the xt is much better for the money.

But for that system i would recomend a 7600gt, anything else would just become heavily bottlenecked.

You could go cheap and buy something like...
PD 925-50$
Mobo-30$
6600GT-45$
1GB DDR2-40$
Total=165$...not bad.

Thread Starter
the fans still spinning, or it was when I checked. Any video/games are artifacted but I run fine in windows.

Didn't actually realise how boring a computer is if you can't play games and watch videos. There's only so much internet.

O and I went with the 7600GT, the 1650 looked nice and I could of put the saved money towards cooling but I thought I'd just go with the quicker card and improve the cooling on that, see what I can do.

It's a shame NewEgg uses a shipping company that shuts down on weekend :-\\.

7600GT is barely more than the GS, so if you have to choose between those pick the 7600GT.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...00GS%2bAGP

Theres also this, which for a while was much more exspensive than the PCI-E counterparts, but with the MIR newegg is giving a pretty sweet AGP deal. Thats the best AGP card on the market i believe.

Edit: Scratch that they have 7950's in AGP, but they're way overpriced.
