Fixing a wee bit leaky reservoir??

Thread Starter
Greetings all,

I have a swiftec reservoir and it has started to leak just a tad out towards the back. I have located the joint that I believe the leak is coming from. Do you all recommend a particular sealant to patch the reservoir or should I just buy a new res? It takes a week or so for half of the coolant to leak out... I use mct-40.

Thanks for any input :-)

Teflon tape on the threads. How does it take a week for it to drain?

Forgive the newb question but what do you mean by "threads"? It leaks very, very, very, slowly. I have not added coolant for at least a week and it's about half empty. So it takes even longer than a week.... lol. I will locate some teflon tape!

The threads are like the threads on a screw. Remove the barbs and wrap the tape around the end that looks like a screw.

It's leaking from the back of the reservoir... not around where the tubing connects to the reservoir. seems that there is a leak at a plastic seam :-(

No... contact Swiftech to get it replaced. Otherwise, use some JB Weld or Silicone Sealant to patch it.
Once again...

Elmers Ultimate glue 100% water proof, sandable, stainable and far less ugly then the optional bonding agents.
I get mine at Home Depot for $3.89.
