Instability with a new cooler

Thread Starter
Well today I installed my lapped and modded (Styrofoam fitted on the gaps) Big Typhoon. Compared to my CNPS9500, both idle and load temps (overclocked or not have gone down. With my processor at 2.5ghz, I used to get 31C/52C. Now it is more like 28C/43C. However there is one thing that is bugging me. My processor is not stable at 2.5ghz with 1.375 vCore anymore. After about 3 minutes in Orthos, my second core fails the test. However, I stress-tested using Orthos earlier this morning to find my load temperatures on the CNPS9500 and there was no problem. I'm confused. Wouldn't lower temperatures result in a more stable overclock?

Lower temps are always better, but I don't think that they always translate into a bigger OC. As far as 2.5 being stable with one cooler and not the other I don't quite understand how that would work. Would the amount of power drawn off the different fans from the heatsinks have any effect on the overall oc I wonder?
