Is there anything official on X38 release?

I have the P35 vs 680i dilemma right now and Im really hoping X38 release is close so I dont have to choose. I'm also worried about the early bugs with any new mobos, hopefully they run like the P35s

Supposed to be coming in August for pre-release testing and September for retail-chains/e-tailers.

Just wait a few months, you won't be displeased, I promise you that

Well just hold out a bit longer and you will be verrrrry glad you did! lol

X38 is supposed to be the Overclocker's DREAM motherboard. And if nVidia allows SLI support on an Intel chipset, there will be NO beating Yorkfield/Penryn/Wolfdale + G90 SLI

Gives me more time to save for new PSU and VidCard... I need to go to Tibet, to a Monastery and be a monk for awhile to learn patience and selfcontrol...

If you get the Intel X38, it will have top notch drivers / BIOS revisions. The Intel guys designed the chip and put a lot of work into making sure everything runs smoothly. ASUS is on top of things to (normally) as is Gigabyte. DFI and Abit are a little in the grey on that matter.

On a whole, I would not be worried about bugs. Especially since it is a 3rd generation chipset for the Core 2 Duo / Core 2 Quad.

Word was the X38 would launch this month, but it seems more realistic that we will see it in September. This is likely caused by good P35 sales and a lack of demand for DDR3 (which is the only thing X38 natively supports).
