You make it sound like we did something wrong here . Should I not want to make my case better? Have you modded your case at all yet? Or are you happy with it right out of the box?

I just felt the need to improve on some things that Antec should have done from the start. Eventually they added some holes for cable management and some pre-drilled holes for WC.
But some people just have that urge to mod. I enjoy working on computers and cutting and drilling etc. Shouldnt that be reason enough?

For one, the case looks a lot neater. Many people take pride in knowing their case looks "clean". Have you been to the rate my cables thread?
I know you cant see the interior with the side panel on but who are you to question why we do stuff like this?
Second of all, many people (myself included) may have trouble with cable management, particularly with this case. I just wanted to demonstrate a few ways to go about managing the cables.

Do it man, you wont be sorry. I am actually considering the mini P180 if I can get it for around $60-70 (more wishful thinking ) .

Previous to this post I had no idea that you could route your cables through the back of the p180 case, could you look at the pics and see if it would even be worth all of the trouble of rerouteing everything?

do you think it would result in a lowering of gpu temps ?

i think it would definitely help lower temps. my question though is, do you really need 6 hard drives? i would take out the 2 HDD's in the top chamber and place a 120mm fan on the inside of the hdd rail (using the clips) to further cool the gpu's.

if you absolutely need 6 hdd's then you could cut out on the side panel for an intake to place a 120mm fan to blow right on to the gpu's. but i would definitely try to re-route your wires, looks to be a beast to clean up . give me your case for a weekend and i'll clean it up for you .

also, please fill out your system specs in the User CP tab.

Ok user specs should all be filled out now, and yeah I kinda have to keep all my drives

1x Raptor 150gb main
2x 320gb in raid 0
2x 500gb data storage
1x 750gb bought for quakecon (contains HD movies)

when i run out of space i got a new drive
and ive been replacing them with newer ones about every 1/2 year
so lets say 1/2 year from now when 1tb drives are cheap
ill be replacing my 2x 320's with 2x 1tb's and so on.

hmm one more thing, since id rather not cut out anything on my case most of the cableing things that have been done previously in this thread can all be done without destroying any part of the case yes? meaning i can route my cables through the back without having to cut holes ?

omg my p180 must be too old or something, I popped the side off and it doesn't look like the pictures of the other2 p180's on the motherboard side of the case it CLEARLY doesn't have the room to move cables back behind it. and especially not the big power cable.

I just bought supplies too

looks like you will need to do some cutting if you want to route the wires in the back, just like i did. i have the same old case you do. the newer P180's have holes already cut out for better cable management. but a router, drill and 1 inch hole saw can quickly change that . its actually easier than it looks, trust me. i was dreading cutting my case. i kept thinking i would screw it up somehow, but nothing really bad ever happened. and small mistakes are easy to clean/cover up.

i can see how i could get the fan cabled back in there but there's no way to route the main power is there ?or is that why you sliced up that section between your top and bottom hdd bays?

ya,. we have the "first gen" P180. the newer P180/P182's have a slot cut out that can fit the 24-pin atx power cable. there is no way to route that behind the mobo or on the other side of the case unless you pull out a router. but ya i did cut that section specifically to fit that particular cable. i also fit the power cable to my gpu in that section as well.
