Really short article, so I'm posting it in full... more after the Aug. 2nd Black Hat show...
Researchers are claiming that they have a method to take control of Apple's new iPhone through a Wifi connection.
A penetration testing firm named Independent Security Evaluators said they could also successfully compromise the iPhone by getting the user to visit a malicious web site. In both cases the attacker gains access to all data on the phone.
The firm notified Apple and recommended a patch. There is no evidence that the flaw has been exploited in the wild, but a preliminary description of it has been released on the web. A detailed description will be released on August 2 at the Black Hat show in Las Vegas.
