yea..

well if u are paying then I'd say if you can get that 680i EVGA board RMA'ed then you will likely get the G0 to 3.6GHz with their new revision of the board and then it would be ridiculous to consider anything better than the Q6600 G0... you are getting the best of both worlds at 3.6... and you will only see tiny improvements by spending %200 or more cash... so Q6600 G0 is the sure bet!

My guess is that Q6700 would serve you better with your water, it seems that you are FSB limited and the 450x9 4.0 450x10 is 4.5 but can the chip get there this all speculation on my part if the chip can reach that high.

Even though i said that i feel that Q6600 is just better because its cheaper and will get close enough to the 6700. Your not trying to break and WR's are you?
I just don't see why bother with the Q6700 at all even if with phase given the results people are getting with the 66... just save the big bucks for natives

450Mhz is about as high as my board goes so it may be worth it them. Is the new rev. 680i board just released? I swapped my board at work about a mmonth ago. Will it make that much diff on the FSB speed with the newest rev.?

No IMO. I know Crysis will be optimized for quad core, but I really wonder how much of a difference it will make? I'm willing to bet not much. Save your money for a better GFX solution in the future.

Higher FSB means more bandwidth. But it also means more heat, less reliability. I'd grab the Q6700 if it's not much more.

It's almost twice the cost, which is why I'm holding back. After the price on my Opteron dropped $300 bucks I swore I'd never buy a $600 CPU again. I think i'm going to give it another week to see if we get any of the Q6600 G0's in.

twice the cost is ridicolus... I mean the Q6600 G0 will hold it's value much more than the Q6700 period fellas... so unless u r going to upgrade again right away as soon as the next stuff comes along then don't.... and even if you are don't cause you'd have to sell it a month before the others come out so you don't have to sell for less... I mean guys it is evident...

Dude... ur indesition is by your desition... meaning just do what you allready know you have to do and get the 66... case closed
