How do I reset 680i BIOS if pc wont boot?

Thread Starter
I am attempting my first overclock tonight. If I screw it up and my computer does not boot, how do I get back to my previous BIOS settings? I have the latest NF68_P30 BIOS update on floppy. Do I just boot the pc to the floppy and flash the BIOS? Is it that simple?

Well, you will need to "clear cmos" this restores bios settings to stock. How you do this depends on your mobo. Not at all familiar with yours but mine has a button to clear cmos. Others have a jumper that needs to be removed and than replaced to clear the cmos. Either way check your mobo manual.

Good Luck Tonight!!!

In the user's guide there is a picture of the motherboard that illustrates a "reset" and "clear CMOS" button. Which one are you referring to? Also, at what point do I press the button? During start up, before POST, when?

Thanks
