Getting rid of the dell!

Thread Starter
Ok so here is what I am getting. I'm pretty set on all this, so I just need you all to tell me if everything will work with everything else, especially my RAM. Also if there's something I should REALLY change please let me know.

A slightly used E6600 from someone on here
GIGABYTE GA-P35-S3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX
Rosewill RP550-2 ATX 2.01 550W Power Supply
COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 CAC-T05-WW Black/Silver Aluminum Bezel, SECC Chassis ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
Everything else will be from my current sig rig

So please comment and let me know what you think and if it will all work together!

P.S. I might get an 8800 a few weeks later.

Im not really a psu expert, but a lot of ppl on this site dont like rosewill.

cool, thats the same case i have. its got lots of wires, but you can hide them easily and get amazing airflow

Ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820178149

the board has ddr2 1066 standard, so here's a pretty cost-effective 2x1GB pair

I'll edit this post with some ram in a minute
But it has good reviews on newegg. And feel free to suggest a better psu.

And no I'm not going to get new ram, I just need to know if my current ram will work with that motherboard.

probably not. If it is even possible to run ddr2 533 on that board you would have to do some serious underclocking.

The psu should be fine unless you plan on running a g80. If you feel good about it, then go for it

edit: maybe you'll want a board with ddr2 800 standard, because you can get some good pc2-6400 for real cheap

The ram is just running at 533 because that's the highest my mobo will go. This is my ram and it is 675 stock.

As for the psu, I do plan on running a g80. So should I get a better PSU?

Oh and I don't plan on overclocking the E6600, it will be fast enough for at least a year.

ok, a g80 will need a way more expensive mb, and a way more expensive psu. Do you have a link to the gpu, by chance?

my bad, i meant 8800gtx when i said g80. The board is fine, the psu might stutter a little, just remember that watts arent the only thing when selecting a psu

$230 shipped AND taxed to CA. Not including the E6600 or 8800. Just for the case, PSU, and motherboard.
