my motherboard is HORRIBLE for over clocking but that is still way better than my cpu. i think i might get the 2.4 one because mines 2.2 and single core. god i need to get with the times lol. or just save up enough money lol

if your going to waste ur money on AMD. get a 165. Best bang for the buck.

Your choice in CPUs ought to be determined by your motherboard's capability with scaling up the HT ("FSB").

If your motherboard can scale up to above, say, 320MHz on its HT ("FSB") setting, then an Opteron 165 (with its 9x CPU multiplier) would be a great choice.

If your motherboard can't handle such high HT settings, then you need a CPU with a higher CPU multiplier (I'd say at least 11x), in which case either an X2 4400+ or an Opteron 175 (which are basically identical) or above would suit you best.

So, find out how high your motherboard can go with its HT setting first, then decide which CPU to pair it with.

Hope this helps!
