Hi all, i just got all my stuff in today which is as follows..

CPU : e6850
MB: ASUS P5K DELUXE/WIFI-AP P35 R
MEM: 2 gigs of G-Skill ddr2-800HZ
Graphics: EVGA 8800GTS 320
HD: 150 gig Raptor
PSU: Corsair 620HX
Cdrom: Samsung SH-S182D dvd burner
Case: Antec P-182

Now my question is can anyone give me any tips or pointers for a first time builder? I have worked on computers and installed different things but this is my first build from the ground up. I will be adding a nice after market air cooler relatively soon so that i can overclock this baby!
Thanks in advance for your help!

I would suggest having zip ties handy to help with the wire management. I also suggest putting everything on the motherboard and then install the power supply and then put the motherboard into the case. Also before you start connecting the power cables, some what plan out where you're going to go with them. Just my 2 cents and good luck.

DON'T FORGET THE STAND OFFS! Theres always someone who forgets to put them in.

Im looking at either that or the Ultra 120 extreme! And a second question does anyone think it would be possible to hit 4ghz on that processor with air?

It's possible but just because someone else has done doesn't mean that you may be able to. Every processor is different. When Intel is making their chips they do them the same way and they test them to see which ones overclock the highest. The ones that clock higher become the higher end cpu's. So while you have got a great cpu it could go anywhere from 3.5 ghz to 4.5 ghz. It just depends on how lucky you are as every chip is different.

one thing you can do is completely remove that upper HD cade and stich is th epower supply fan it its place, makes things much cooler in my P182. make sure not to apply too much paste and you the line method arctic silver recommends. TRy to stick as many wires as you can behind the mb tray and good luck connecting the 4-pin(or 6-pin?) mb connector on top, that one is a blast. I have some pics of my setup which looks a lot like yours in my sig so you might have a better ides of how everythign fits in the case with visuals.
