hm, I don't know. Build experience I guess. At least nothing has fried or blown up yet! lol.

I'm tentatively hopeful that this tiem, it'll work. It booted first time with that sound card in. It was probably coincidence but I'm thinking positive here. I'll be back in the morning to bother you some more probably.

Alright, I think I've discovered (at least most of) the problem. I believe my SATA DVD-RW drive is the culprit. I'm not sure, but from my research I don't think it likes my SATA HDD's being in RAID while another SATA device is there.

WIthout my SATA drive, it still sticks a bit on UPDT DMI, but rarely ever hangs. With the drive plugged in it hangs all the time. Was it a mistake to get the SATA DVD-RW? It's a Samsung.

Should I just go out and get a new IDE RW drive and put it in slave position to my DVD-ROM? Or shouldn't there be a way to get the DVD-RW to play nicely with my HDD's?
