why is everest showing 45c for the core and the other ones are 39?
and what is temp1 (45c)

Either the temperatures are being read form different physical locations, or the calibration is off.

Have you tried the ASUS PC Probe utlility to see what it has to say.

Generally I will err on the side of caution and use the higher of the temp readings to make decisions on OC'ing and general usage.

I might be wrong but if I remember correctly on my machine, everest shows 2 temperatures. One of them is cpu diode and the other is cpu. The cpu diode temp for some reason is always a few degree's lower. Hope this helps.
