Seeing as how the ECS C19-A SLI only runs its PCIE X16 slots at X8, I think you'd be much further ahead to get the one slot up to x16 instead. Does that have something to do with why you want to do this? I didn't notice that you mentioned it. Maybe I didn't read well enough though.

Edit.......that X8 speed is also when you only have one GPU installed. It is not an sli limitation it is an all the time limitation.

I think the problem he is having is that he needs more power for his volt mod. He appears to have reached the limit of the mod and wanted to go higher, he wanted to draw power from the other PCI-E slot.

Yes but......... what good is the voltmod for that card on a motherboard that only runs the PCIE slot at X8 even when you only have one gpu installed? I was hoping to get him to ask himself that question with my earlier post.
