AMD's let down, but possible bright spot in the future?

It appears after the hype of yesterdays 3.0ghz triple graphics card pictures, AMD doesn't plan to release 2.6ghz quads til Q2 2008.

The plans may have changed, given this article is from the same day (July 26) as the pictures were released, but an interview with "AMD’s Steve Demski, product manager for Opteron line" might be better representing than a demo of a possibly overclocked CPU.

If that Barcelona we saw yesterday was indeed at 2.0 ghz and overclocked to 3.0 ghz, it could mean bad news for the server front, but excellant news for overclockers. If this is true then; After yesterdays debate on the 3.0 ghz system, both Intel and AMD fanboys both have a victory and the universe is well again.

From what I gathered, the system pictured yesterday was a Phenom. This is very different from a Barcelona. The Barcelona was said to have been benchmarked yesterday, but we didn't get any pictures of that.

Theinquirer.net listed it as a Barcelona. X-Bit listed it as a Phenom as did slashdot. My mistake, I didn't search around the other new sites.

What would the TDP of Phenom be if the TDP of a Barcelona at 2.5ghz is expected to be 120watts?

I just realized this looking at that blown up picture, but who in their right mind would put a P8 CPU power connector in the middle of the board, with the only way to route the cables is across a high RPM exhaust fan?
