Well I know that you can adjust the laser just like you can on the ps2. Sorry I can't be too specific, but my brother did it with my dreamcast, I think the process is simillar to the ps2 laser fix.

A heavy cleaning of the cd using toothpaste !
It really works , its the reason I got to finish grand theft auto 3 that I scratched horribly.

dreamcast are better than 360 easily

your gd-rom laser is dead (perhaps)

it COULD be recalibrated, this however didn't work for my own (took it back for another.. it was resetting.. fixed that easily)
