well, i can run 2.66ghz @ 1.3. But 3.2ghz (my target) takes over 1.5v, why does it scale so badly?

heat possibly...or it could just be a characteristic of your cpu. You are also close to a 1.2ghz OC, which is a very high OC for air cooling. Lower temps will allow to clock higher.

at 3.2ghz @ 1.5v my load temps are 58C. while its not too bad i dont want 1.5v for every day use

Once I get over ~1.5vcore, I notice instability when load temps start going over ~52-55c. Try to lower your temps some more to 'lock' in that OC at 3.2ghz.

Try cooling your NB to drop your cpu temps some, usually a hot NB will heat up the bottom of your cpu cooler by a few C.

well i stuck a fan off an AMD Athlon 3000XP cooler onto my NB ages ago and the NB used to be really hot, but since i put the fan on its been pretty cool. So the NB isn't the issue

ok. I put my PC with the side panel off facing out of my window with a desk fan outside also blasting cold air from outside into my pc. 3.2ghz @ 1.5v load temps were 42C ( =D ) But it still needed 1.5v to get there...

what revision is your mobo?
My 36420 takes a lot of vCore to get to 3.2 also. But I can get to 3.1Ghz on stock Voltage..
