correct me if im wrong im only an overclocker in training.
How to explain with an analogy...

The best way I can describe it is this way: What would be easier for you to carry, assuming these objects are all the same shape, are all the same size in terms of dimensions, and that you're insanely strong? Two objects that combined weigh two thousand pounds, or four objects that combined weigh two thousand pounds?

Given that you have two arms and two hands, two objects would be easier, yes? Distribution of load is the principle here. A similar principle is at work, in simple terms, with the IMC. You're sending and receiving signals and putting out electrical current to only two objects as opposed to four.

There's also another advantage to using 2 1GB DIMMs: If you decide you need a total of 4GBs of RAM in the future, then you still have two DIMM slots available. You won't need to discard your existing DIMMs; if you choose four 512MB DIMMs and you decide you need 4GBs of RAM, then your 512MB basically get wasted, yes?

Hope this helps you!

If you don't mind getting the 2 1gb sticks separate, i assume they'd work in dual channel, ebuyer does the 6400 ballistix for £72 with free delivery, so for £2 more you get faster sticks.
