Thread Starter
i have a cell phone, and i hate having to set up my charger everywhere
so i would liek to know if there would be a way to like mod a molex to power the charger so i could maybe make a mount inside of a 5.25 drive bay or somethign to insert my phone into to charge it
heres my phone:

How would it be easier to plug it into your PSU when the outlet is right there?

This is an awesome idea , all my outlet plugs are in use for my comp and I bet this would be useful for LAN party/dorm use since outlets are limited.

those reasons.
and my room is lacking plugz too lolz.
if i can do this, i will be stoked.
another thing im looking into doing is using my unused internal port for front USB and wiring a cable to that, for a spot to use/power my PSP
(yes, i will have to do the USB charge mod to the PSP before this lol)

Is there a USB cable available for your phone? If so you wouldn't even have to mod anything. I know my RAZR, and modt Moto's for that matter, will charge through USB but not sure if Samsung's will.

That's a pretty awesome idea. It seems like it would be hard to figure out though, 'cause you gotta figure out what current and voltage your cell phone needs and then somehow modify the power that the molex would give. I'm not even sure if you would get by with just resistors because that only changes the current... you might need a DC/DC converter to change the voltage, lol. Unless of course your phone takes 3.3V, 5V, or 12V. I'm not sure which of those molex gives you though.

Oh wait, USB, lol. Yeah, I have a RAZR so I can just use USB, haha. Not sure if you can, though.
