EVGA 8800 custom cooling.

I am the proud owner of a EVGA 8800 gts 640mb KO edition.

http://www.evga.com/products/moreinf...7-AR&family=23

(that card)

It ran hotter than i wouldve liked, so i bought a vantec spectrum pci fan card for it. This dropped its temperature down to something acceptable, but i am still reluctant to oc it further. (something id like to do)

On the downside (upside when installed) it has a slim heatsink bolted onto it.

Like this:

What i was wondering was whether it is possible to replace this heatsink with a custon jobby with a fan on it, or bolt a fan over the top of it, to try and keep the temperatuse down.

Are the 4 threads (holes) seen in that heatsink standard for bolting a aftermarket vga cooler down on it?

Cheers
Duvel.

*** is the point of the heatsink on the top of the card> It's not cooling anything..

Congrats on your card. I have the same one It's beautiful. As of right now, I don't think there are any real solutions for aftermarket cooling with 8800 GTX, let alone KO version.

My bad, I thought you said GTX, either way, they're identical in looks. (KO)

idve said the same thing, but it seems to be really reasonably hot to the touch, so theoretically dropping its temp would drop the overall temp of the card.
