Keep us posted on your volts as you get near 4ghz Rusty.
I read in another thread that on the same mb a 722a required .1 volt more on the vcore than a 723a. Mine being a 722A

Right now Vcore is 1.3000 set in BIOS. This reads out 1.29 in BIOS, 1.31 in Everest, and 1.312 in CPU-Z. During Orthos load, it drops to between 1.28 and 1.30. Again, this is only at 3 GHz right now since I am still burning in and baselining my performance. Temps are 31 case, 21-21 cores idle and during Orthos 50 case, 40-40 cores. All temps read from Everest with similar output from Speedfan.

This is my main home admin, play games, etc, etc rig, so I don't intend anything outrageous; especially since I am on air.

Same rig, last CPU was a D945 3.4 GHz. I had a 24/7 OC at 3.91 GHz that was rock solid stable on air using the Freezer Pro 7 and that was very snappy and responsive!

I bought the E6850 mainly hoping to get a better FSB going. The D945 multi is x17, so I was only able to run the FSB at 230. At that the D945 ran very hot in my rig - under Orthos load I regularly peaked up to 60-61C right under the thermal spec limit. I've heard the E6850 runs quite a bit cooler and hopefully that will help out.

And of course here is a screenie just after terminating Orthos with Everest showing speeds, temps, and volts:

Here are the results of my first stable OC @ 3798 MHz. with the E6850.

I have been able to boot at over 4 GHz. but it is not stable.

Temps. using a lapped Tuniq Tower are 36 Idle & 57 Load, because of the 100 Degree T-Junction you have to add 15 degrees to the temps showing for these chips.

4004MHz 1.593V set in bois 68c on water
Screen shot 4GHz Stable

It does run about 4-6c cooler but at the time I took the screen for litlratt it was 27c inside and the water temp was pushing 32c

Batch # L720A740

Just a thought congo.....

you may like to add another line to the spread sheet with (stable) &/or (post and run)
P.S. I would not call 10min stable either

@ cognoscenti
Yea I know. This block sucks
But the water temp was at 32c ambient 26c+
The missus hat the heating on flat out, She was cold
It normally struggles to hit 50c with the E6600 @ 3.6 1.52Vcore
and with the E6850 othos 40min 62c @ 4GHz 1.6Vcore (Normally)
I think I need to lap the CPU Dam intel can't produce flat chips......
The E6600 was all over the place, not even close to flat!!!!

Have you got 4GHz stable?????? and @ what settings?????
Anyone else???? screen shots please......

DaGuv @ 4.203 @ 1.6125V (In Bios) on Water Cooling

http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=223609

I don't have a voltage screenie as I did this run before I seen the thread header (I will run this oc again 2nite)... although I got the CPU-Z Link and the SuperPI run.
