Apple Worth 2x Dell's Market Value - Page 11

Well I would expect this..... because apple is the only one who makes mac's were the pc market is distributed over many companys.... such as dell, gateway, acer, and sony (+ many smaller companys) i bet if you added all those company's worth together it would be much greater then apples.

In my personal opinion, Mac fanboys fall in the same category as Bose fanboys. They think "I am better than you because I have my Mac / Bose X." It is almost like a social thing to them. I must have my Mac / Bose because it simply is the best thing ever. And they truly believe that the Mac / Bose is the best thing ever, worth every penny, and that it simply rises them above the rest.

There is nothing else similiar to a Mac / Bose fanboy.

Except AMD fanboy's and Intel...

Are there any Dell ones? Those should be funny.

No, you see AMD / Intel fanboys simply think that their respective company is the best. They do not think that they themselves are better because of their fanboyism.

The funny thing is, i liked Macbooks when they came out with IBM processors but they when apple started to equip the MBPs with Intel procs, It isnt so much diffrent than a Dell laptop sans shell and OS. I agree that i might know much about apple nor its product but i have used the OSX and iphone every time i went over to my friends house. While the iphone looks slick, it doesnt have nearly as many features as a HTC pda phone such as the HTC kaiser. Not to mention its cost. I have tried to get the diffrences across my friend's thick skull, but alas he wouldnt listen because like the rest of the Mac crowd he is just an apple drone. Buy any product that apple comes out with because "its cool".

Anyway i like my windows vista and XP because they offer me what i need.
Macbooks never had IBM cpus, and the Powerbooks (pre-intel) used Motorolla/Freescale cpus

Mainly because you can't upgrade it the same way, few programs that I use run on OSX and well, I think the cases are pretty damn ugly.

Now, what are your macbook specs? I will build a laptop online that beats it performance and cost wise.
You can use the GIMP on OS X... Upgradability is a valid point, but what, really, do you upgrade in a laptop (this is not an argument, just a question). Saying the cases are ugly is a poor argument...

Dell Wireless 1390 802.11g Mini-Card
No Webcam Option
6-cell Primary Battery and 9-cell additional Lithium Ion Battery
High Definition Audio 2.0

The CPU is 200mhz less, but you get a faster, larger HDD and two batteries. No webcam, I hate having one, you can add one for $30.

Cost after shipping and taxes? About $1600. I could get a student discount to bring it down to $1400 shipped.
You should include a webcam, wireless N, bluetooth and innovative features like a MagSafe power adapter. My MacBook really has everything it needs inside; i don't need extra accessories hanging all over my should-be portable laptop. Besides... As before mentioned, people mainly get Macs for OS X. They're not benchmarking or playing games or anything. They like the interface and the way they get to use their computers (like how Hobo was saying PC and Apple take different "approaches" with software).

No one called anyone an idiot... And the reason Audi shouldn't have to do the work is because Moots was the one who said he could build the better system. "Burden of Proof" lies in Moots' hands. By saying Audi should prove it, you are committing Fallacy #19 in the Fallacies of Logic.

Talking about the desktop macs in this case. (lol PUN!) The laptops are a bit better (looking).

Add $200 for all that and any extra stuff you can find. The Dell still comes with an extra battery, which I find pretty damn awesome.

I feel like I proved my point. Even after you add that $200 for all the bluetooth stuff, it's still a laptop that is $700 less and has more features.

Maybe... But no one can deny this is an argument about preference. You're saying you hate the computers because of the price... This is what you're doing: "Macs are overpriced, ergo i hate Macs." This is what you should be saying: "Macs are overpriced, therefore i hate the price."

If you do hate Macs (the OS), then the fact that they carry a heavier price tag is irrelevant.

OK then, I hate the "You get more for your money" argument that pops up. Hardware wise, Macs are overpriced for what you get. I don't care if you make 18,000 or 180,000 a year, the Mac is still more expensive for the same or less hardware than a laptop not from Apple.

I can hate macs for whatever reason I choose, but it does come down to preference.

Personally, I hate the price, look and user base of the Apple company. If given one for free, I would sell it and buy a real PC.
