HOwever when other things come into play such as quality and editing it makes one better. ITs all depending on cicumstance and preference. IF you just gonna surf the web then i could reccomend a mac to anyone cuase you dont need to pay that much to search the web. But for photo and video editing i would reccomend one and say the price is wortht he gains in that category.
I actually want a mbp just to have i think they are cool lol. Just not paying that much for a toy lol.
You'll do well in life. I just can't believe how many people are so quick to call me a fanboy because I have the ability to use Logic. Every single argument I conjured was logical and apparently irrefutable by the amount of "fanboy" claims that popped up.

LoL. And at that, I will outwardly tell anyone that I wouldn't buy a Mac Pro unless they were twenty-five percent LESS than they are now. I didn't even keep my 30" Apple LCD and I got the damned thing for nearly free.

However, once again, de-construct a Mac Pro, go on NewEgg and tell me exactly how much the Xeon CPU's they use cost, then tell me the system is overpriced for exactly what it is.

Pft.

Hey look, real numbers! Imagine that. Guys, give credit where credit is due. Apple Mac Sales are up. Dell is down. Get over it.

Quote:
The Macintosh had a good second quarter.

Apple (AAPL) shipped 960,000 computers during the three month period, up 26.2% from the same quarter last year, when it sold 761,000 Macs, according to new data from the market research firm IDC.

Although Apple is now No. 4 among computer makers in the U.S. market, the Mac OS is still a distinct minority in a world dominated by Miscrosoft (MSFT) Windows. The Macintosh's market share for the quarter is a slim 5.6% by IDC's measure, up from 4.8% last year.

No. 1 computer maker Dell (DELL), by contrast, sold 4.85 million computers in the U.S. during Q2, for a 28.4% market share.

But Dell's market share is falling, as is that of No. 3 Gateway (GTW). Dell's sales were down nearly 11% for the quarter and Gateway's fell more than 7% year to year.

Of the big four U.S. computer makers, only No. 2 HP (HPQ) showed growth comparable to Apple's. Its sales were up 26% for the quarter.

But Toshiba and Acer are coming on strong, with sales growth of 50% and nearly 164%, respectively.

In the larger international market, HP now rules with nearly 20% of sales, up better than 36% year to year (see eWeek.com for more on that). Apple failed to make the cut in IDC's list of top 5 vendors worldwide. Its sales are grouped in the category "Others" in the chart below.

Audi seriously just calm down. You don't have to be so harsh. Sure they may be wrong but you don't have to tell the off in such a crude manor. You also don't have to criticize every post against apple. It getting a bit old, and I'm getting sick and tired of it. No body likes a smart a**.

Fits you quite nicely. It seems you are utterly devoted to defending apple right? (Logically or Not) So your basically a fanboy.

Macs work fine for a person with alot of cash or no need for an upgrade for at least 4 years, ie. You, My Grandfather. But for a person like me who is a poor pc enthusiast, macs are out of the question. On average I spend $300-$500 a year on upgrades to keep my pc near cutting edge. With macs i would have to spend at least $1000 a year since id have to ebay my existing mac, and buy a new one.

Yeah I think apple might be selling more than dell and most of it is probably iPods. The mac books look like great machine but I couldn't afford it.

Edit: I think I overlooked this post more than I would with a school paper

And this thread is old as hades. Why bring it back up?

I really don't care what you do or what you're getting tired of, to be honest. But, if you're going to bash something, expect someone to be on the opposite side of the fence.

True, but you don't need to respond to everyone who opposes you. Your just saying the same stuff over and over, I think we got the point after the 2nd time you posted on this topic.

So, someone else is allowed to repeat themselves... but I'm not?

Hm.

Your logic doesn't make sense. But, you're still loved.

He calmed down about a week ago, buddy.

And just because he uses logic and reasoning to justify his opinion doesn't make him a fanboy. Everything you used to describe him was a worst-case scenario. It's a possible scenario, but it just isn't the case here. You're stretching out what he says based on what seems to be your hatred for Apple and its buyers.

We're as sick of windows fanboys as they are of Mac users.
Hes not a Windows fanboy (hopefully), but rather tired of hearing about how macs are the best deal ever. I wanna end this here, I don't like to fight, we are just tired of hearing blatant claims of Apple's superiority over everything on earth. You (as a general term) like your Apple computers. That's great, more power to ya, just please don't tell me that macs are a better deal, or that the iPod is the best invention since the wheel.

Who told you that they were better than everything else? I sure didn't. I don't think Gunner did, either.

This thread didn't tell anyone that.

Did I miss something?

Same on my side, bro. I'm merely defending against false claims, nothing more. Other than that, i just sit out on the side line and watch, occasionally helping people when they ask for it when decision-making.
